An electric dead man line will of course have a couple of solder joints where connectors are attached to the main line. When electric tape get worn off of both sides the two can cross and activate the media. If this happens when you set the hose down it can be a real scary moment and embarrassing as well. Avoid this nasty bit of trouble by staggering the length of the two wires where they attach. Instead of snipping the wires evenly cut one back about an inch and match that up to the main wire to solder. If the joints become exposed they are unlikely to contact each other. Simple fix.

Lol glen...
My line shorts out when you move the hose just right, making us think
Someone is messing with ya.
Then you get in that spot, under a Mac truck, the spot that tames you a half hour to get just right, and it doesn't. Work....
