As grit valves age they can sometimes blow out on the bottom. If you have placed your pot over a finished surface, like their garage cement floor or a fine wooden floor inside a home or a stamped cement deck around a pool, and your valve pops a hole you won't know until you go to fill the pot and see a silver dollar sized hole that might cost you a thousand silver dollars to fix. If you can't place your pot over ground then consider a piece of horse mat or heavy sheet metal placed under the valve. Guess how I know this.
