Great series of threads!! I've learned more about painting in two days than I ever would have thought possible. Thanks!!
In regards to mud, I always buy the premix from the box stores. I typically am stuck with the green lid (I notice many of you refer to blue lids) as that is all that is carried. I then thin it down when necessary for texture and skim coating. My trouble is that I ALWAYS seem to have chunks. I have a mortar mixer paddle for my drill as well as a paint mixer. Having tried them both with lik results it seems I am always stuck with a putty knife picking out chunks and resmoothing. Any ideas?
