I wasn’t sure where to ask this question but after reading through this forum I’m thinking someone here may be able to help.

I got back to my hotel room to find this broken glass shower door. Did a person do this? All the windows and doors were shut, and I’m not in an earth quake prone area. Seems very suspicious.

Quick back story: after learning water pipes burst in my home, insurance placed me in a hotel while my home is being repaired.

If need be, I can post a picture of an I damaged glass door so you can get an idea for the thickness, which is maybe 1/2”.

Thanks for looking, and if this isn’t where I should post please do let me know.

Is this a Kohler door? They had a recall on them because they were "shuttering".
If not seen this only happened once due to improper installation and it happened during a seasonal change.

happens quite a bit , spontaneous breakage. If there is any chip or scratch in the tempered glass it changes the normal steps in the heat related glass and it can break at any time. Daughter had a table break in the middle of the night, 2 customers had shower doors break, one opened the door too far and hit the vanity top 2-3 weeks before it exploded.
