Curious to get feedback on typical usb outlet installations or extensions? i.e. classroom or conference room the mouse or keyboard connected via usb cable back to the pc and distance is longer than standard 6 ft cable?

What are the more popular connectors you have nstalled in the outlet (A to B) or (A to A) - Female end on the faceplate end?

Are you instead using usb extender instead and feed through the plate?

(Male B to Male A cable is typically included with peripherals such as printers, digital cameras)

Photos below:

(Left two connectors below are A type (Female)

(Right two connectors below are B Type (Female)

I terminate the place with a cat-5 keystone and use cat-5 bal-uns, no point stocking more inserts then I have to.

he max distance for a USB cable is about 16 feet.
Have you tested this? I have not yet speed tested my USB cables but I have a lot out there longer then 16.

Powered baluns can run up to 330+ feet.

Passive baluns can run up to 150+ feet.

Longest I have in the field is about 200 foot USB2.0 on a powered balun, with a USB2.0 hub connecting a rack mounted computer to a boardroom at an advertising agency.
