Ever use one of these?

I'm hoping to find a decent hand-powered splitter, one that does a good job within the 1-3" range especially. I've used ones like this for use with pavers...

But with the flat blade, they fail with stone. Allegedly the toothed bladed version cuts stone. Yay or nay?

I used one for awhile, very handy for putting a split face on limestone treads.

I think it depends on what kind of stone you want to split though, we only really have limestone and bluestone and they are easy to work.
