Any ideas on a new set of stilts?
Saw a site pushing Pentagon stilts, less expensive, dont want someone say you get what you pay for, so has anyone actually used them? Reviews..

I would stick with dura stilts. I use both the 3's and 4's. I like the 4's but I'm not entirely sold on the new binding and strap system when on tall stilts jacked all the way up. The 3's are the old stand by and have been for years. Your life literally depends on the quality of your stilts and comfort is also of importance when on them all day.

duras!!!!!!

I have never purchased a pair of skywalkers ,,but I did buy a pair of marshalltown QLT A few years ago ,and they fell apart within a month.
There full of sheet metal screws now...I may as well throw them away..

Duras!!!!! They last! Buy a pair of dura silts and you will have a pair of stilts you can depend on.

Your right ...I don't see how those bindings are going to last .. I much prefer the old style duras. ..I don't see where the comfort is any different ..the old style works for me ..and there still in production :whistling

I'm 5'11" and for 8' work I use the medium size duras. 9' and up I use the tall duras. I can reach almost 11'.

Ya they aren't much different comfort wise and when I'm all the way up I feel safer on my old ones.

That isn't bad. A friend of mine is 5'2" and uses his stilts for everything.

Same here..The old style seem to fit tighter.

Ya you can really strap your feet and calves down. And no plastic!! All I can think about is a plastic failure in mid step while taping or boxing a high lid. Not good!! That's why they keep making the 3's, they are an industry standard and have been for a long time!!
I bought a set of cheap stilts off ebay for about $100. I use them for painting and drywall.
They get used about once every month. They adjust from 18-30". They are set on 18". Being 6'2" I'm good to go on ceiling up to 10'.
The problem with them is I need to keep tightening the calf strap every so often.
If they were to be used daily I would have bought a much better pair.

When you put the strap through the first part buckle give it a half twist before putting it through the second hole and pull it tight. That should keep it from coming lose so quick.
