I like the idea of using the TJI's as a stiff brace. Many times, during a wall lift, the wall will develop a significant bow due to the forces of the lift. I will have to try that one.
Always balloon framed. Depending on the number of windows, and how much framing in between each can sometimes lead to the bending. Picture that big gable wall of yours with about 50% window coverage. Many times we only have 4 1/2" in between which means one king stud and two jacks. A 20' 2x6 can really get stressed during the standing sequence.
Thanks for posting. Sometimes I see guys build a standard wall and then the gable on top and then try and keep it stiff while they lift.
We tend not to have a ton of windows in a wall. The wall in the background above is an exception to this. Engineer spec'd studs 12" oc, and triple kings no trimmers for those windows.
