We recently built a monster entertainment center out of 3/4" African Mahoghony, but could not find trim to match it. So we went with some regular from Deterings. My problem is matching the 2 woods. We went with the golden oak, and it looks great on the Mahoghony, but we're having a booger of a time getting the pine to match up. we have mixed and tried many combonations. Anyone know of a "stain specialist"?

Make your own!

I had pretty good luck finding an impossible match on a piano I restored...I got a few bottles of colorant additive at WoodCraft, and you mix it yourself with denatured alchohol. They come in these little 2 oz bottles, but you can make it as strong or as weak as you like. One bottle makes about a quart of stain. And, they have strong tones, so you can match the hues pretty easily.
