I was asked to do this, they gave me some general talking points. I think the group will be 9th graders. Any suggestions on how to get Kids interested in the construction field? Any questions that I should ask the students? I don't anticipate many kids showing up to the construction industry chats....

Take it as a honor man! Think about all the things you love about what you do.

I can think of a couple...Working with my hands, helping people, sense of accomplishment upon completion as well as something to reflect on, working outside (9 months a year) and problem solving.

Trades will never go away- can't say that with desk jobs.

It's a career you don't necessarily have to put yourself in debt to learn. And like said above, well always need tradesmen.

I was in your shoes about 20 yrs. ago, awesome experience! Do not forget to bring some show and tell stuff, some pictures of your best projects along with possibly some of your tools. Remember, what you may take for granted is all new to the children .

Good luck, give us a heads up on how it went.
