No they are stain grade poplar. They are 3/4 lumber box beams...We put headers in the ceiling while framing and then attached a 2x6 to the ceiling. then tied the main 1x12 beams to them and put fillers in bottom. The arches notch into the 1x12 beams. It's all just a box.

Here are a few pics of the house from the outside.. It's a lot further along now and I need to update my pics. We've got probably 2 weeks work left.

Is that a shingle panel in the lower left? If so, what do you think of them? I live in a place where every house is shingled, yet I have never seen any panels go up....so I'm curious..

the beams are amazing, i love the arched ones. very nice work!!!:thumbsup:

on the outside are those shingles or cedar one vinyl siding.

Those are true cedar shake shingles... This is what the home owner requested on all the gables and dormers. They work well...But are a little rough...

Beams look awesome.

I would like to see some finished pictures of the exterior when it's finished if you can get them. I would love to see this house in person, inside and out.
