Shed roof from house covers a lot of soffitt area where vents should be. How do you deal with that? I see the garage and shed roof were installed after the house was built. Cinder block walls. It's a 50 yr. old house that probably wasn't built as a house. Garage was added and more recently an addition. When we bought the inspector pointed out that there are no soffitt vents on this house. When I cut into the soffitts to install vents, I see that the rafter chases are blocked. Any wisdom here appreciated. Thanks.

If there's enough construction gap between the decking and fascia and there's gutters - you can use gutter guards that slide under the shingle. If no gutters, ventilated drip edge.
