Tell him that his appearance is unprofessional and that it will have to change otherwise he will no longer be a good fit for your company. If he needs the job bad enough, he will shower.

Or buy him some body spray and some deodorant
We have a must bathe daily policy and each employee needs to have this paper signed in their file. Sad but true. Sometimes you just need to tell them SHOWER!!!
You can write a poem and, with a Sharpie, Write it in the Porta Jon like someone did on a job I was on many years ago.
Tell him he gets paid to get dirty and smelly, not to show up dirty and smelly

Guess I wouldn't make it in your company.
The Marines used to have a couple of procedures to take care of situations like that; not PC these days.

If you're the boss, My Way or the Highway. If not, a little Dark Ops might be in order.

It's not a medical condition is it?
ouch... lol how do you confront someone that you stink? lol

Sounds like real world to me.... I have been in that situation many times. I never say anything, always seems to be someone around who powders their balls, that is willing to berate the offender.

Guess everyone has things that rattles their cages.

Sigh, I should mention... Country Music makes the hair on the back of my neck stand up... and I tend to start throwing stuff around the job site.

Country Music or BO?.. Fraid I would prefer the BO :w00t:.

I had to fire a guy for the same reason back when I was a framer.

I moved him around working with different guys, but everyone complained. I talked to the guy & told him what was up & that he needed to shower after work or find another job. He made the choice not to shower so I had to fired him.

I bet the guy never got any action from the girls.

Two words come to mind........ Tyvek suit.
I would give him a bar of soap and tell him not to come back to work until he uses it. Maybe he will get the idea then!
You don't have any hoses on site, throw him in a pond...

I know it is a little above and beyond but we do a lot of work for elderly programs and you would not believe the complaints before we put this into effect. We used to et calls if guys would come in same outfit the next day to work. It was either that or deal with the people. It seems to work now.

I am not a sweaty person. I rarely have BO and when I do it is actually on the sweeter side than the BO side. Don't get me wrong, at times, working hard in the right conditions I can get rank. As for the clothes, I'd have a problem there too. I wear a uniform, I look the same all day long every day. Part of my image. I have people recognize me because I always look the same. I have actually had people not recognize me when I was in my street clothes. It's always funny.

Hand the guy a bottle of patchouli oil.

When he asks why you gave it to him, tell him it is what all the hippies (soap dodgers) wear.
