Smaller Drywall Jobs

I get calls for small drywall work Kitchens, bathroom and basements.
And the Homeowner or contractor wants to save the money and do the drywall hanging themselves.
I will suggest that they just pay my hanger out right. And it will be done right and I can give a fair price. Instead of a ball park. ( Because I have to see the hang job before I give price)
Now I start the job and 7 out of 10 screws are out. The boxes are ok. Them you can see. But screws take the time. And there is bunch of misses. And the carpenter tells me that the ceiling they had to take the ceiling down twice. ( used the same boards)

I know it sound petty. But I feel, I should charge per screw.
I hate to be that way but its a joke.
You want me to tape and coat.. Not to install.
And the best is " Can you give me a great price " or can you do better then your ball park.. NO..
I have walk thru jobs with a blade and wiped the board down with a knife. Click, click click.. And the guy fix them. But I worked for him before.

Any input?

I'd say give them an hourly rate for getting all of their mistakes and misses up to snuff.

I managed some builds for Habitat a while back, The vols liked to hang the drywall. and were quite horrible at it LOL My finisher got in the habit of giving me a BETTER price if he could hang it himself,, haha that convinced me to convince the director to just let him do it.

I always say you will not save money doing it yourself because mud cost more then drywall....the more mud and fibafuse I need the more you will pay :whistling so if the hangers can do it in a day and make less seams and put the butts in the right spots or no butts at all or use buttborad and have the screws set correct so the drywall is not loose...just tell them I want the job done right or you will not do it !!!
I flat price em.
Absolutely if someone else hangs the sheetrock... I charge by the hour.
I use a flat rate for some work. But I think by the hour might work.
I hang and finish one price.. You hang it's hourly. Like the sound of that.. lol

How badly do you need the work? This is a huge red flag
