I guys, has anyone tried wet /slurry blasting with silica sand?
I ran off crushed glass and could only find 20-30 silica sand at a local hardware store.
The crushed glass I have to import from the US and takes me about 2 weeks until it arrives... At almost 24 dollars for 50 lbs.
Price for imported silica sand from FL is almost 3 times less than what I pay for the crushed glass... So I was thinking about giving it a try.
But.. Before giving it a shot, I thought I better ask first if anybody has done that before.

The application will be on some rusted steel structures, 7500 sqf.
Thanks for your comments.

Used to use it in wet blasting applications all the time in the 80's and 90's. It works great! With the wet blasting it is safer to use anyway. No problem with it. Just make sure to use respiratory protection when doing clean up.
