Thinking about the job I am completing- tub surround with cement board, hydroban over down on to tub flange behind stone tile. Permacolor grout, and I planned to Latisil the tile to tub joint. Now, wouldn't that trap moisture that was behind the surface of the tile at the tub deck, not allowing to drain out? I am going to go ahead with my original plan because I figure the moisture could be drawn through the tile. Right?

switch out the permacolor grout. Use urethane or Fusion Pro. Be sure to waterproof entire wall.

If water got in through the grout, it would sit between tile and wall membrane until it found an opening or discolored a more permeable grout/tile. That's why I dislike the spot method.

Yes good idea I was thinking weep holes like for brickwork, corners are little more inconspicuous until homeowner caulks them in, dam installer missed the corners!
