Why didn't you take the dip out....all that effort and you half @$$ it?

Also the term was "plating" not "strapping"

It's my flip it wasn't worth the cost I would have had to wreck a finished room to do it and move all that plumbing

if the walls are under the beam then the beam is not sagging ,the floor below your three walls must be involved .
ok i am reading your last post .this is not a structual repair .

The beam is sagging trust me. The walls had no blocking and they werent fastened to each other. Even disregarding all the notches the plumbers made that's a recipe for warping. But yeah I'm sure the slab has shifted under it considering its 100 years old and has elsewhere
