I've sealed concrete and I've sealed Asphalt. What about an asphalt driveway with several decent sized concrete patches? A new customer insisted on patching his asphalt driveway with concrete. Now after the fact, he wants to seal coat...
Has the cement on this driveway been sealed already? If it has, an asphalt sealcoat will probably not adhere to the concrete very well. If not, I would say you should be okay to use an asphalt sealer to seal the whole driveway. It will help the driveway look more uniform...but it really was a mistake to patch a few areas with concrete...he should have redone the whole thing with concrete or patched with asphalt.
I think asphalt driveway patches cannot be removed completely using concrete sealcoating. while doing so, we have to maintain a specific temperature. Even then we cannot gurantee for over years to come. So it's better to remove all the layers and rebuild your driveway with concrete or asphalt for good look.
