The mason completed the exterior fireplace. Very detailed for a screen porch fireplace, don't you think? The brick is a water struck brick that is very hard. non porous and very irregular. This architect always specs this brick and every mason complains about it.
What do you guys think?

The brick still neads some cleaning.

I would not have gone for the brick hearth myself. I big hunk of granite would have been nice. I worry about joints failing down the road.

You know what they call a basement with 3 brick layers in it...

A whine cellar.

God could hand make the brick, mix the mud and deliver on a silver platter and a mason would complain that the materials came from too far away.

Looks awesome, since those joints aren't exposed to the weather I doubt they will have any problem.
