Bass, you're a tease.
Actually, I'm just really slow with the scan, crop, resize rigamaroll... that and I haven't dug up the finished pic of that project yet. I've got piles of old, random, pics.:whistling
Is that Basswood as in "Basswood Lake"?

I know it is NE and not SE Minnesota, but you could be fisherman that is a refuge.
Here is another random pic. This one shows how I've preserved an old, low, double-hung window. They are too low for modern counter height, but chopping the window off can look bad on the outside. The window seat is an option and the plam top works as the seat. In this case, it is also a good place to set groceries that need to go in the fridge to the right. The doorway on the left limited the cabinet depth, so I used wall cabs as bases. This was a low budget job... had to be creative.

Most excellent Bass

After you finish messing around with your photos, maybe you would like to drop by and scan in a few of mine. Seeings how we are so tight and all. Shouldn't take too awfully long.

I'm down by Winona... we do have quite a few basswood trees in the woods down here. The lake sounds nice though.
Circa 1992, my cabinet refacing days. I don't know how the job turned out but I'm sure it was nice

Is that your tool box or your lunch box riding up front with ya there?

Thermos

Bass, I think it's cool to revive some of those old photos. Sure makes you appreciate digital cameras.

Thanks.

Here is that first project finished, and a couple more pics of a strange little pantry project. Here is the tease... see if you can figure out what I did and why:

You retained stairway headroom?
you put a 'gut check' table in the hall to slow down the kids?

Nice work Bass, as always...

Good eye there Willie:thumbsup:

Not sure about the lazy susan on the top shelf...
Thanks.

You got rid of some AC plywood in the least conspicuous place you could find.
Reason - You got tired of moving it around the dance floor.

Good call Willie.

There is more to the story though...

Good point about the Susan... I think that after they stained and finished the wood, I think they moved the top carousel down and kept shorter stuff on it...

That is probably true.:whistling

Gus and ALL,

What is the function of the slot at the bottom of the door jamb space and why the drop-leaf top?
1 - They keep a cushion in the slot and change dirty diapers up on the top.

2 - Keep vacuum pack machine in the slot and bag the stuff on top

3 - Keep old newspapers in the slot and wrap fish up top

4 - Keep wrinkled laundry in the slot and iron it on the top.

5 - Grocery bag storage below and staging area for new groceries on top.

Am I warm on any of these? Which one?

#3 is kinda close. From your answers, I can see the possibilities are limitless.:jester:
