Here's an advertisement from 1953 for a Liberty home. 3 bedroom with attached garage for $5350.00 (or about what I spent on gas last year)

Pretty cool.

He has seen it advertised for three years.

Good old nob and tube wiring.Still going strong in some homes.

Must have been the end of the gas light era.
is nob and tube that stuff with the stiff black tubes? if so, i still have some of that crap in my house, my house was built back in 1945.

Don't doubt it is knob and tube,
just that it's older than '45.
Maybe the house was moved?
then it probably is. all i know is it was a PITA to move. i had to move the light switch over to another stud, and that stuff doesnt bend for sh*t. i took my chisel and went to work for a few minutes, finished and nailed it onto the other stud, i was pretty satisfied. then scratched my head and said to myself "why didnt i just use the sawsall" :w00t:
