I left a few trucks on a site over the weekend. There is currently no grass or plantings so I assumed that the sprinklers were off. WRONG! I now have some yellow/orange trucks that I would like to return to their original white.
I use Rustaid at home, I'm just not certain about using it on automotive finishes. Any input would be appreciated.

I wash my white trucks with well water, and it turns them orange tinted after about 6 months of washings. I liberal dousing with white vinegar and let them sit in the sun to dry turns them back white again.

Grumpy, the trucks did not rust. We have pockets of very high iron in the ground water. In my neighborhood, 1 block can make a difference, some people get low iron while others get red driveways and homes where the sprinklers hit them.

did you try a dilute solution of muriatic acid? Works on the paint on the boat why not paint on the truck?

I'm concerned about the clearcoat, once that is gone the body rapidly declines.
