So I had always planned on dropping my DW744 in a rousseau table and then adding a router table extension. I got to crunching the numbers and really couldn't justify the cost. I was looking at my table saw the other day and got to tinkering with it and this is what I came up with. It works like a champ. I use the stock fence and attach a wooden block to the back of the factory fence for edge profiling. All together I have less than $5 into it.

The table that it's sitting on I use as an outfeed table. I have a bunch of wooden benches that I use to reach 8 foot ceilings and the saw sits on two of them and lines up with the outfeed table. I have a couple bolts with wing nuts that secure the saw to the benches and that makes it like a rock so it doesn't tip. If i was using it like it sits in the picture it's pretty stable as is but I would probably have to add a folding leg on the end for support. I almost always have it set on the benches. Good catch though, I might have to add a leg.

DW744 + Router table

I have been pondering this type of set-up for quite a while. I have a little bit more elaborate plans, but essentially the same setup. The more I dove into attachments like the Rousseau 2700XL Saw Stand has, the more I crepted up in price until I found the Daddy of them all by Incra -

Still researching if it would fit. But I do not think it is compact enough to fit in the truck and the easability to break it down is in question. But wow!! what an accessory.
