Honestly, I don't know, I'm a carpenter, not an electrician. If you don't know either, I would think your best bet would be to have an electrician do the work.
Romex or BX
Im running a new circuit to the service panel through a finished drywall ceiling within the joist cavity. Wire will be resting on the drywall. Should I use romex or BX? Wood framing.

Rusty, Ask the electrical inspector what his preference is. Usually you can contact him through the building department. (Look at your permit-there should be a phone number on it)
