Ridgid, the brand is owned by Emerson Electric. They farm out all design and production to TTI, who also owns Milwaukee, Ryobi, etc, etc. TTI also owns another brand that is better known in Europe called AEG. If you go to AEG's web site, you will see that many of the Ridgid tools are rebranded AEG's.
Ever notice HD has both Ridgid and Milwaukee featured prominently? They even gave away a free Ridgid miter saw stand with the purchase of either a Ridgid or Milwaukee miter saw. Not so if you bought DeWalt. Ryobi was, of course, too cheap.
Killer, Emerson's plant only does the vacuums and plumbing tools IIRC.
The rest of the bench, cordless, and hand held power tools are infact made by TTI. TTI also makes some tools for Craftsman and Mastercraft. I read that there were a few ridgid powertools that said "Made in Germany" who were all made by Metabo.
So for the most part, yes they are made by the same company as Milwaukee, Ryobi, Craftsman etc. Bare in mind i'm sure TTI builds to spec with different quality levels so they may not be exactly the same product.
