I'm removing and replacing about 60' of 4" sidewalk. I'll be removing it by hand. Is an air hammer the best way to go here? Or is that over kill?

As long as it's unreinforced 4" and you don't/can't use equipment breaking it up with sledges and long pry bars is not too bad. If you have to rent a breaker just rent a electric.....they do the trick and cost a whole lot less.

Around here you first need a $2million bond with the city to touch their sidewalk.

Dump trailer, bar, and sledge. Mostly the bar. A certain amount of cranium is important as well. I never realized this before I saw teenagers doing this work. Elevate before hitting is key.

Rented jackhammer yesterday to break open a slab for 4 footing pads. $80/day. Had em busted in about an hour. So much easier this way.
