Remodeling Show, Indianapolis--October 27th-30th

I've seen a few of you talk about coming here to Indy for the Remodeling Show in October, many specifically for the lead based training.

Some of us are planning to get together at some point... dinner, drinks, coffee, whatever... just to shoot the breeze and perhaps put a face to the names we've been chatting with on here for so long.

So, I figured I post a thread and ask specifically who was coming.

The exhibit hall registration is free, up until the 28th I think. If you need help with picking a place to stay, or anything else, let me know. Sorry, but the extra beds at my place are all spoken for:

I might be able to make it to the show ..............
Will there be pony rides and balloon animals ?
OK... So that Pella party is actually a Qualified Remodeler party, and is sponsored by Pella. It is on the 27th from 6-9pm. I can get five tickets to this event that will be held at the Crowne Plaza.
This is an awards dinner, isn't it? Did your company win something?

I thought I'd bump this up. The Remodeling Show is next week, who's coming?

Geeze, kinda personal huh?:whistling:laughing:

I am for one day, maybe two. Maybe Wed. and Thurs., or just thursday.

I only asked because I received an email invite to the event for $25 a person---but the award winners got 5 free tickets, if I remember right.

Yes, we made the top 500 for 2009. #364

When and where is everyone going to meet up?
On Wed @ 1 PM - Paul aka silvertree got a table from Hanleywood by the food court where you might run into a few of us

Beyond that - any other idea's out there
sounds good. I will stop by and see if I can find the table on Wed. and maybe at that point we could figure something else out, if anyone wants to.

I'll be out there tonight and hope to meet some of you while there
If any of you are in town tonight (or any this week for that matter), give me a call. Some of us are getting together for a drink or two or three.
Sorry. Definitely won't make it. The lovely Mrs Internet Creep is getting her gallbladder yanked tomorrow. Have a good time and pour one for me!!!!!

Any news to what's been happening there? Everyone staying out of trouble?

Silvertree is already back home.
No one else is talking. :shifty:
I haven't had any calls for bail money,
so that's a good sign.

How did Paul's presentation go?

Convicted? Never!

I heard he didn't have to dodge
rotten fruit, but he did start a brawl
between some contractors and designers.

What happened in Indy - stays in Indy :whistling
Hey, it was Chris and the designer, I was trying to butter her up and Chris dropped a microlam on her.

Actually she sent me an email after the show and wants to have lunch. True:blink:

The old grizzled look gets em every time.

It wasn't as dramatic as all that. :whistling The designer, Cindy Ojczyk, was great and I actually sat next to her at dinner the next night with the Hanley-Wood/Remodeling magazine folks. She's teaching one of the conferences tomorrow.

I've enjoyed the show a lot. The exhibits were underwhelming on the whole, but the networking element more than made up for it. I've enjoyed most of the conferences I've been able to make, and got to sit in on a focus group at lunch today for a cabinet manufacturer.

The general session this morning featured the Entrepreneur of the Year Award. Iris Harrell has a great story, and I enjoyed hearing her speak.
Who got Festool Schwag??
Not I - I don't think you need to drink the Kool Aid, just touch the tools. Man that stuff is pure eye candy that is very nicely designed & both items I touched I now want (Drill & systainers - I already want the track saw). [email protected] you Festool

I left before I touched anything else

They didn't give you any freebies?
