I thought it would be cool to be able to come to one place and view everyones framing, so post away.
Looks like fun, but where's the rafter hangers? With the snow loads you have, why isn't there more structural hardware in the roof?Progress update. Started sheeting now. Light snow flurries this morning.
With all the green it seems like I should put a big red bow on the house, but I don't think the Hindu HO's would approve.

2x6 rafters sounds like a dream. everything here is 2x10 or 2x12 for snowload and insulation.
Hardware isn't the be all and end all of building. Wood framed structures were being built 100 years before structural hardware came around and a significant number are still around today. Not everybody lives in California.Looks like fun, but where's the rafter hangers? With the snow loads you have, why isn't there more structural hardware in the roof?

it's not about what's 'needed' it's what Simpson has lobbied to make code in most states. everything is over engineered and over built to line more pockets.Lookd like I see eaves on the place and Hardware isn't the be all and end all of building. Exactly what I was pointing out.it's not about what's 'needed' it's what Simpson has lobbied to make code in most states. everything is over engineered and over built to line more pockets.
Me thinks that framing sub is well compensated. Or his wife has a nice job.:clap:I don't think the garage is big enough
Woops, let me rephrase that, the house he is framing, not his house.:whistlingMe thinks that framing sub is well compensated. Or his wife has a nice job.
