instead of plywood? so weird.
Yup, keep in mind that Ontario (fortunately) is not subject to any notable wind or seismic activity.
When foam board is used in place of plywood.. an "x" brace is used in place to provide the necessary racking resistance.
I don't necessarily agree with certain things being designed and built a specific way, one being those skinny garage wing walls.. but ok.
I can think of many plans that i came across that incorporate some sort of shear or "lateral support wall"..
Tall wall areas with lots of openings.. sure i can see the use or benefit in that case..
The project i am doing right now, ICF.. the engineer called for a shear wall on all 3 floors of the house.. 15' in from one end of a 40' reinforced concrete wall.. I was completely up in arms over this one.. what the hell is it doing? A.. if the concrete is going to move.. what is a flimsy wood framed wall with drywall gonna do.. and better yet.. what was the point of running 4 -3/4" threaded rods with squash blocks and bridging to tie these walls all together.
Not sure where i am going with this. :whistling

I was driving along with Chris.. had to slow down and snap a pic. Chris was looking at me like "WTF dude" but he knows me well enough to understand the complications of frameritis

Kind of a bad picture but there is a long wall with 10 or 12 eye brow dormers.

Is the roof flat on top? What's the roofing material going to be or is that not your deal?
Im not even working on that house, we did some flat work for a house in the same community, but this one i had been watching go up.. Frameritis kicked in an i had to stop and snap a pic.
The place we did the flat work on was the same deal, flat top with torch down membrane. I would assume that the roof on the place in the picture would be the same.
