First time i have built a truss section on the ground. Saw a bunch of pictures on here and figure it would probably be the safest and easiest way to lift on the cathedral section. went pretty good, ended up playing around with the sawzall trying to make everything plain out better. also the first time i ever got to use a crane to set trusses. we spent 2 days nailing sections together and sorting on the 2 loads of trusses. Got them up in about 7 hours. Crane operator was really impressed so that felt like i was on the right track!

Yup, picked up a 24' flat bed and made a very conscious effort to avoid the main road through stratford.. I slowed down and looked at the house and i knew it looked familiar. :laughing:

It rained like mad all the way to Toronto , and I got big time lost haha . I'm not sure where the place was, it was right by Kate station diner on vanastra road .

 

Waited for plans , details ... Now lumber .. Damn salesman confirmed the order but didn't input it to the system .. Wednesday delivery ... Gah

Fester...any reason you don't sheet on floor and then raise complete wall Also do you house wrap or siding guys? Any thought on zip wall? We all have our ways just curious.

 

Do those poor buggers have to sheet the walls off ladders?

 

I always sheet off a ladder.....I think it's the fastest method going.

Originally helped out with the floor and exterior walls on this guys then was off doing my own thing and my buddy called to help install the Windows after the timber framers finished the roof. Tripple glazed fun!.. I'm still a little sore.

We do our share of quick ones and some customs. Seems like the guys always get ancy to pound out a production house at the end of a custom

 

little project were just about finished with

 

Simple gable barn reframe roof for us, my only concern is the ice covered lvl and lumber this morning...it's only late October and we are already using our speed square ice scrapers!

 

We Set trusses and sheet roof on local high school building trades class house.

I bought a new post and beam in Milwaukie. I'm still not positive why they are done. So many posts and so many footings. Seems labor intensive, and more chances for one footing to settle or heave.
