The biggest single piece wall I've done. Not that impressive but seemed like a lot to me. 45x16' 2x8. Big LVL headers.
thats a whole lotta wall!!! so is the 8" thickness becoming the norm for exterior up in your neck of the woods? seems to be more and more of it lately?

This was specified for strength by engineer. I'm about to do two 2x10 framed 670 sqft cabins. I've also done 2x6 + staggered 2x4. Common is 2x6 plus 2" foam or more. Prescriptive code is now r30 walls in fairbanks. People use many ways to get there or much higher.

The craziest thing for me is for this little airplane hanger I got a couple units of the best looking 2x8x16s I've ever seen. What luck.

Golden... my curiosity started with whether it got R30 cold in Tacoma.... then I noticed Fairbanks AK (I'll bet that means Alaska....never sent a letter there).....

So... is that a long commute.....:whistling

It's a long story... Girlfriend in grad school in Tacoma, then moving back or wherever work is best for both, but I still may work the more profitable summer in Fairbanks.

Went to pour a slab in a mansion neighbour yesterday (for lack of better term).
The house we did the slab is the one with shingles started... Wicked place.. 13' main floor.. open to above octagon.. 10'x10' skylight and all sorts of other cool features. I was taking mental notes of how they did the bell curves with struts and not actual radius wedges.. Went up on the main roof to check out the deflection to the scuppers. Lots of rippers :censored:
The framed place, i just had to stop and take pics.. Quite a big house with some very clean framing!

The one we just finished. Lots of weather delays on this place it's been below -20c all week. Had a few days in the last few weeks around -20c
Looks good, was that out by carstairs? My folks had a 4' drift of snow on their driveway. I think all outdoor construction workers in Alberta slowed down a lot last week.
