got rained out at 12 today. we've finally had our whole crew on this house the past few days and are rolling along now.

 

6 block of towns. Just shy of 8600 sqft. All walk outs. 16 working days. Spent a day shimming and squaring foundation. I've seen better..

 

Rushing these 2 up and have a third house beside these with a walkout and first floor on using as a prefab table. Trusses are up on the walls. Got the loft section to build still. Moving along good on these we are a week in. Back roof is on and sheeted and mostly all back framed inside.
These two are the same model just different elevation on the front. About 2700 sq each.

 

Just a question, but are you not taping your joints because its siding guys job or are you not supposed to. I've been seeing more and more guys with no tape and wraping the house in tyvek after which looks like a PITA.

Looks like we are the only guys here using Atlas Board!

 

We are not required to tape the seams of the sheeting. Have worked for a couple custom guys that wanted it taped as we went.
A lot of the other foam board products we use have ship lap joints. The atlas board (rx as it's called) is the only one that isn't.

I'm from Chatham, half way between Windsor and London.

So you are just using the isoboard as a insulator then? Seems that ship lap would be a lot cheaper. Our system is engineered so that the isoboard is the outside wrap and the vapor barrier all in one.

 

Only using it as a insulator to get required R value now. These are still vapour barriered (poly) on the interior side

the gehls for tight lots and unloading trucks. The terex for everything else(has a 22' longer stick)

It's a 10/12 roof so I'm guessing the roofers used them for supports. That house has been done for a while and I forgot to take a picture of it when I was finished. I figured since I'm working in the area again I should head over there.

Well at the start of the week I was hoping to get the second floor joists on but considering the circumstances I'm fairly happy with the production. There where only 2 days this week where my labourer and I were both there. We had some material show up so we had to go build a deck and porch roof at our last house. When we arrived Monday we had the tall wall, garage wall and a stairwell wall built as well as joists going about 2/3 on the main floor. Tuesday was over at the other house and Wednesday and Thursday I had my labourer do a bunch of backframing and heat holes (shouldn't have taken as long as it did) and then today we were both there Tomorrow I hope to get the other garage wall built beams up and most of my joists cut and ready to roll. Not working a full day though and I'm by myself so it maybe a tall order

(Edit) I should mention the outside picture was taken yesterday all those walls are in and fully sheeted.

Started this one last Tuesday. Tues, wed and thurs. Pulled out to do this other one as I was waiting on trusses to be delivered.
Did the second house Friday Monday Tuesday Wednesday.
Back to the first one Thursday and Friday. Had to put skylights in on Saturday.

Whats up with the girder truss in a hand cut roof?

 

The lumber supplier owns a truss yard, and they like to sell girder trusses,
typically we'll have a 34' in the garage and another in the house to free span the area

The 3 and 4 plies are a pain to get straight, we lay them flat on the street and screw them together with Simpson screws instead of nails
