Looks really small for 700 sqasgoodasdead said:snapped this pic before lunch today. after lunch we got up all the 12'6" walls. all the walls in the picture are 9'9". so yes, we've had to cut every single stud on this job so far. plus we lost a few days to rain and a few other days to pull off to go to other jobs. and we're not allowed to work there on Saturdays. very slow going job for us. we're used to flying.
That is just awesome. Here's the other house. Not quite as big as the other one, but more framing than timbers.

Stops the ends of rafters rotting.Dirtywhiteboy said:What's it for?
Probably never will but it a big problem here on older roofs with tile/slate,one broken slate and water will run down the felt and pool at eaves, felt decay's and rafter rot over time.Californiadecks said:Why would they ever get wet?
That's what sheer is and should do.
I used to always wrap the corners with the OSB. And about 4 houses ago I made the decision that whenever framing for a builder who sets the price of the job and it's less than what I would charge if I were to submit a quote. Then I need to make up time somewhere. If they were to up their price or I were to work for a builder who pays more I would go back to wrapping the corners. The other advantage to it is that it gives my helper one less thing to think about when I get him on framing walls.Warren said:Am I the only guy who wraps the osb over the corners anymore? What about the housewrap? Is someone else putting that on?
I don't think you could get away without lapping it here. How do you keep the corners from pulling apart if you don't?Warren said:Am I the only guy who wraps the osb over the corners anymore? What about the housewrap? Is someone else putting that on?
When you sheet the butt walls on the ground it won't cover the corner stud on the bye wall.mrcharles said:I don't understand how not wrapping corners saves time?
