I thought it would be cool to be able to come to one place and view everyones framing, so post away.
Only the 2 corner units on the end.FramingPro said:Are you just framing half the block or what?
Yessir 12 units in the block total. Lots of drywall.FramingPro said:Oh its back to back and side to side houses in the block? So double fire walls.
I did it with ICF there cowboy, not framingFramingPro said:Me and Chris were discussing the dual plane radius dormer today. He gave me an idea that made alot of sense. Rather then trying to swing the radius of the barrel on the curve, swing it flat, on a normal piece of plywood, then bend it in place. How do you guys go about doing this?
Finding your points and bending a sheet to thoseFramingPro said:Would work either way.
When you bend a piece of plywood to those the radius points it isn't the perfect radius, it maybe close... It's probably close enough in a lot of cases. I was always taught to trace the curve with a 1x4 nailed to the pivot point.FramingPro said:We are not seeing eye to eye hear, i am suggesting you do that, you figure out your radius of the dormer, swing it on the plywood while it is still flat, and then bend it around the curve...
Yeah do that. Maybe I'm just not understanding what you're sayingFramingPro said:So you trace the radius on the round wall?
I will draw a pic tomorrow.
Looks like they are for the hip to me.FramingPro said:Whats up with those jack rafters, the planing looks really screwy compared to the main pitch.
Hah yah that truss is real bad.CanningCustom said:The jack trusses for a dual pitch roof with sometime come 2-3 of the same length. You at that point would put your fascia on and chalk a line and cut to suit. Although while you guys are looking at that I am nonstop looking at the hacked to hell top cord of the truss closest to the camera man
That doesn't look like truss manuf. issues, that looks like someone too a hammer claw to itFramingPro said:Courtesy of the wonderfultruss mfg's of Ontario.
Damn I hope you will at least scab a decent 2x4 on that?CanningCustom said:The jack trusses for a dual pitch roof with sometime come 2-3 of the same length.
