A fun change doing some timber framing on our latest model home.
Timber work looks nice. What are you guys using for your vapour retarder on the interior with that foil faced polyiso on the exterior?

For fear of trapping moisture in and having mound issues we don't use a vapour barrier on the conditioned side of the batt insulation. We got it engineered that if installed correctly and foil on the inside would act as the vapour barrier and the R7 from the foam would keep the dew point from being a problem. We glue every stud and plate and top and bottom of each sheet. Foam every gap inside and outside. Tape every joint inside and outside as well.


Sorry I don't know to much of the technical words and numbers. Still learning lots here haha

A little head scratching and reading for this section. Can't say I have done many irregular valleys by hand...my world is truss world. Pretty happy...the math and angles all worked out! I have said it before..much respect for guys that can hand cut an entire roof system.
