I’ve actually been a licensed contractor for 10 years, on this site for 5 years and wouldn’t need to come ask how it was done. I’ve decided to post 4 times in those 5 years and one of them was to try to help you, aka your welcome you cocky douche.
I don't think he was referring to you as a non pro or experienced, but rather meant he was posting on the site in general in attempts to gain more information.

Lower all the light switches instead.
Wouldn't work - they're doing away with light switches entirely.
Thanks inner..........you made me chuckle drool my coffee on my shirt.......way to start my day. I'm sending you my dry cleaning bill.

Pyth....... I really hope your going to charge more then usual and have the patients of a saint!!!

........so far my spider senses that it's a younger couple that own the home. They want taller ceilings in the main structure. But want to keep the brick (not easy) and are not going to have light switches. They are already asking for a lot. I see high maintenance customer written all over this deal (guessing)

I can't wait for them to come in from some rainstorm in the middle of a winter night and tell Alexa to turn on the living room lights and she responds with "I'm sorry i can't help with that. But I'm always learning new things soon....." and then decide it was a bad thing to remodel the house with no light switches

That's exactly what I meant. Actually reworded the post to avoid his exact reaction. In fairness, I probably could have done a better job

Getting rid of light swtches was obviously a joke, but not impossible. Consider smart bulbs. It isn't difficult to create a switch that can be programmed to control a light digitally without having to actually connect electricity from the switch to the light. It's a little thing called the future lol. Laugh now....

I'm not an electrician, but how are you going to get an electrical inspection with no switches?

Supposed to have a light switch at each entry point to a room, etc.

You could talk to a truss manufacturer and see if they could design a truss with a leg on it to bring your ceiling height up. I’ve never seen it done but it might be worth investigating as it would be a really simple solution
