Just picked up a 6 gallon craftsman on closeout for about $120. Couldn't pass up on the good deal. It's basically new, just a display unit which was briefly on the floor (they realized they already had one on display and put this item on closeout , at least that's what they told me). I heard these compressors are made by the same factory that make the porter cable pancakes. Any truth to this? Another question is that when the compressor is running the guages shake violently making it hard to read, was wondering if this is normal or if there is something wrong with this unit. Thanks in advance for any feedback.

On the manufacturing - I have heard the same story that it's basically one or two factories that make the tools for many companies. That's one of the reasons I buy Grizzly tools whenever I can. They're usually cheaper and I've personally found them to be pretty comparable to the higher end tools.
