I'm new to the contractor world. However the little bit of experience I have with PVC I have never had to sand the ends of the pipe. (unless there is a lot of burs) There is a guy I'm working with who says your suppose to sand the pipe before priming and gluing. The direction on the cans don't say you have to. So does it matter? I kind of would like to rub this in his face if possible. He needs it. Some people think they know it all. LOL. Thanks for your reply's.

pvc pipe

I'm not a plumbing expert but I have built and plumbed half a dozen homes. I have never sanded on a PVC pipe or CPVC pipe. I always use the purple primer then the appropriate glue ( orange on CPVC and Clear on PVC). I always use a knife on the end of the pipe to remove burrs.

Same answer as DMC but I have cutters and a de-burring tool.
