I have doors and windows on a project that have fir interiors. I want to keep them protected until my painter is ready to finish them. I need a film that will not leave residue behind but will protect the wood for an extended time period.

What protective film products do you guys use?
Do you have a resource on line to purchase it?

Thanks
Dave

It is best to get a coat of finish onto the raw wood as soon as possible other wise you will have to sand to get to a surface that is not oxidized.
Fir changes colors a lot in the light so don't cover with any thing that could create stripes. On interior doors we pull them right after installation and finish and store them off site and re install the end of the job.
If its not too late get a coat on the windows before install or before drywall it really help keep them clean.
