We have a university student doing a independent study on UV deck oils for his thesis. Any suggestions on which oils he should use? We need to give him about a dozen more. It is always nice to have independent results

I like the TWP also. It does well on not only ipe, but cedar, redwood & TP too.

I tried out a new stain/sealer this year called "Wood Protect". They claim it will keep ipe from turning gray for 2-3 years or more with a clear finish. It's been nearly 6 months now since I did a sample block of ipe, not looking good. The sample is starting to turn gray. The coffee colored wood protect may do better, but a thumbs down on the clear.

Yes I tried them this summer, had real high hopes but like you was disappointed.
