I have a customer who wants a roof over their basement entrance door. The door is about 5 feet below the surround grade and there are 2 retaining walls and a set of concrete steps leading down to the door. They are looking for something to keep the weather off the door as well as some of the rain water from getting to the bottom of the steps.

is there a prefab roof structure anyone here has used before you can recommend? It would be about 48' out from the house and about 5' wide. Wish I would have taken pics.

I'm thinking something that is a steel frame and just bolts to the wall and has a 8:12 metal or fiberglass roof on it.

The aluminum awning idea is what I was trying to reinvent. Sometimes I think I over-think a solution.

Any recommendations for awnings? This would have to be about 4' out from the house and about 5' long.

Thanks
