Since probably every contractor has a digital camera, I think it would be interesting if we pick Friday, for instance, and everyone (even the plumbers) take a picture of what you are doing, or project, and post them on Saturday or Sunday. My camera is in my truck with 2 months worth of pictures on it....and I need to download and sort anyway.

So how about it? Let's all post a picture by this weekend of a project.

Replaced door with a new one. Set in a 6" thick poured concrete wall and free standing walls. The OG door is 32"x80" residential door. The new door is a 36"x84"comercial door.

Opening in the concrete wall had to be saw cut to made biger. Had to move the switch over as well. Then re frame opening for dry wall. Then rock it and texture too match. Then roll on a fantastic green color.:whistling

I think what will probably happen is there will be some major improvements in the panels in the next 10 yrs. Daul layer & integrating hot water for cooling the cells which can be used to preheat domestic water, plus they will have micro inverters so no big inverters on the side of your house. So it might not be a bad idea to upgrade them when it's time for a new roof if you didn't do it at time of installation. I recommend to any one thinking of going solar that their roof should be 5yrs old or newer, if not I tell them in writing that I have explained what is involved if they need to replace their roof. However if you do need to make repairs or replace the roof it takes a day to remove & secure the panels & a day to reinstall for 2 men. Really the bottom line is solar panels = new roof, save yourself the aggravation.

Here's a video of a complete kitchen remodel we just finished today. We totally gutted the entire room, torn down a load bearing wall and installed an inset header in place.

We gained this customer from working on the house that you'll see through the window at the start of the video.

Let me know what you guys think, this is my first video I've done, and I plan to do more:thumbsup:

Leave some rating too hahaa!

Things like that ramp are what happens when you replace good judgement with rules.

I've done jobs like that where the whole thing is pointless but what the hell you're getting paid. I have a hard time with it. It seems like every ten minutes my mind just goes "what a waste"

Kids work area

This is a recent nice little job where I built into a niche this nice childs work station. This is at the top of the stair landing where the parents can keep an eye on the kids from various places throughout the home.

The wood is maple, the color is paprika and the door is a modern version of shaker. As always I design and build with stock cabinets by a major cabinet manufacturer. Nothing is made in a shop and no finishing is ever done.

Nice kitchen

This is my favorite sized kitchen to design. Small, easy, impressive and lots of style and color. I love using a mix of wood species and colors. This combo of maple natural and cherry paprika is my favorite.

The wood species is maple natural and cherry with a paprika stain. Look how these colors blend. To take the wood and color further, I use a cherry classic crown molding with a maple natural (that matches the cabinets) rope molding as an insert. I did the same with the under cabinet molding.

The multi height island serves to purposes ergonomiclly. Multi height wall cabinets always add interest and style.

Kitchen hutch

This is a free standing piece of furniture. It is a kitchen hutch built with cabinet parts right out of the catalog. No finishing or custom parts were made.

The product is Merillat Masterpiece, wood species is maple, color is toffee with brown glazing. The top half is removable so they can take it with them. Building a free standing piece is rare for me as I normally build into niches.

Wall of wood

And the last one for tonight because I dont want to hog the thread.

This is a very large wall. It had one nitch but was not deep enough so we modified the master closet behind to steal 10 extra inches to fit the TV cabinets. The fireplace covering I built it out 1.5" as well as using fluted colums on each side to define it. The square in the middle is simply chair rail molding sized to fit a picture of hers. The fireplace had some silly marble squares by the builder. I tore them off to do the fluted colums around it and built out the mantle using various moldings from the cabinet catalog.

Everything you see was purchased from a catalog from a major cabinet manufacturer. No finishing or custom parts are here.

On the right side was that half wall of drywall with an opening done in drywall. I simply put a box in the opening. On top I just stacked 2 deep wall cabinets. Under the TV is a bathroom vanity. The 2 center doors, the center panels were removed for black speaker mesh bought at a hobby store. The 3 doors above the TV are the same. Since no standard cabinet exists that size I built the cabinet box with stock finished parts, built the face frame from fillers, and just added standard door blanks. The drawer face below the TV was a false front below where a sink would go. It now flips down and storage is behind it. Where cabinet toe kick would be, I cover it with furniture toe base so it dont look like it was ever meant to be a cabinet.

The wood species is maple, the color is toffee and the brand is Merillat Classic.

Jimmy absolutely amazing woodwork. That kitchen with the different color woods is just gorgeous. I love the contrast of the dark and light woods. I love your saying to, Too many people are just comfortable with being average. Strive for perfection! THe only problem with that is you know about every job where there is that one joint that just isnt as tight as you would like it to be, but to the customer it loooks fabulous!

Once again amazing work :notworthy

Great work Jimmy Cabinet! I missed my calling, I should have been a carpenter.

Anyway...... I got started on this today. To the right is a 100 AMP Automatic Transfer Switch with built-in 12-circuit busbar for emergency circuits. The generator is 18 kilowatts made by Kohler.

Day 2 Demolition is almost completed, a few small walls left to take down, tomorrow cleanup crew will load the dumpsters. There is a huge crack in the foundation wall from Hydrostatic pressure, the whole wall bowed about 3/4 inches out. It looks like on top of the renovation we will be doing some structural repairs to the foundation.
