Just to fill in the gaps. It's secured with fasteners.
 
My brother brought in a nice little table he's had for some time. Picked it up at a tag sale or something. About 2.5 weeks ago he placed a hot pizza box on it and the finish turned white. He had a towel under it to protect the table, well... that didn't work.

I was hoping it was a simple shellac finish. I sprayed the whole top with denatured alcohol. It should have laid out flat but it seemed to lay down in bubble like areas, classic fisheye. Likely someone used Pledge polish on it. The white spot went away but came back. I sprayed again and it helped but it was still there.

I put some DNA on a 2000 grit sanding pad and wet sanded the white spot. Seemed to work well. Here's the result.

I'm so tired of painting.

Jambs, storms, exterior trim, sashes.

I figured out no one I know in the sash business finishes their stuff, they said it sucks. [emoji38]

Ahhhh, my equivalent to sanding.
