Just finished a balcony today and I broke this clients bird bath so I ordered her a new one. Here's the message I got. Lol View attachment 554432

Years ago I broke a Tiffany’s lamp on a warranty call. Hammer handle bumped it as I was walking through. A very costly warranty call. Damn Mike, I have blocked that 1 out of my head for years. Thanks a lot

Over the years, I've been adding more mosaic sort of elements into my flagstone work.

Dry set, the stones go down deep.

This was replacing an old, un-level walkway that went through this garden. Gardens been there for 50 years or so--I didn't do the rocks or plantings around the path, maybe just adjusted them a bit.

Thank you for looking.

You're probably tired of seeing sink jobs, but this one was special. The customer bought the full-apron copper sink before speaking to me; I would have insisted upon a short apron sink (the apron is as deep as the drawers, not the sink basin). This meant the cabinet style, rails, and doors had to be altered.

Note the bite taken out of the desk (upper left in the second picture); there was no remnant matching material. The rear left swoop of the original cutout required cutting the new cutout to the splash, removing the rear of the cutout, seaming in the new rear deck, drilling the new faucet holes, then strapping the new sink in place and connecting the plumbing after the cabinet alterations. Took my best two guys all day.

Notice how nice and straight the left drawer is now too.

The desk will be replaced by others.

The customers loved it.

Swapped out 52 Amerock surface mount hinges with the new Blum Compact Clip hinge. Had to bring my full size drill press over to the clients house. Thing hasn't been out of the shop since it was in the store before I purchased it. Job went slower than I expected but no real mistakes. Found out that they cut down the refer doors by an inch and had to reset the hinge plate by that 1/2 inch. The doors were 5/8" overlay on the edges and the tops and bottoms were 1/2", so - weird. The 35mm hole was able to envelop the 3 holes needed to mount the surface mount hinge. Took about 5 hours.

Would have been nice if someone I knew had a bench drill press.

Reroof and gutters.

Got to be a truckass on this one. Just point the subs in the general direction and get out of their way. Show up mid mornings with a cooler of water and Gatorades for their crews.

Went by today to do a final clean up of the yard.

This is the clients I did the kitchen for last winter.

I've done a fair amount of work for their neighbors on the right. The deck I finished last month is across the alley behind them.

Took me about 8 tries to get the damn things to clip. They don't work like the standard larger clip top hinges. But I figured it out. Not as much adjustment in them as the regular clip tops either. Nice hinge though.

Yes it does, push down instead of lift up. I used the covers for the 1st time ever too. Told her she was a lucky lady. Then she complained that some other cabinet didn't have the covers which made me putting them on that much better.

I was disappointed that I ordered the ones printed with the Blum logo and they sent me the blank ones.

This is a ceiling mounted track system to transport the homeowner to his bathroom. The contractor that set this up, swung the door so that it is directly in the way of the hard left required to enter the bathroom.

The VA sent me a work order to move the door hinges to the other side so door can swing in to the right.

I get this request quite often. Only once have I actually done it. Yes, it looked like azz.

Will send them a quote to remove and replace the jambs and slab. See what they say.

Flip the hinges around and add a small patch to fill the hole left over. Spin the latch 180Âş. Mortise the other side of the jamb to receive the hinges and do 3 dutchman on the original mortises. With a little putty, sanding and paint they should hardly be noticeable.
