CV is acid catalyzed, it can be pretty reactive.

Basic rule is don't put a harder finish over a softer finish. Shellac is considered a very soft finish.

Precats can go over post cats but not the other way around. They can burn into the finish and wrinkle it or crush it as the post cat pulls tight as it cures.

It dried fine with a little more time. I have the same issue with hardboard, takes a lot longer for primer to dry but it does eventually.

That's a lotta styrofoam.

A whole lot....
That big dig didn't need to be that deep, but soil bearing requirements put us down that far. It's now been filled to the under slab height with clear gravel.
In hindsight, I should have just moved the whole garage about 10 feet closer to the lake, and had a step down rock retaining wall built. Definitely could have evened out the foundation step downs, and the excavation, and potentially lessened the amount of concrete.
This job has definitely been another "learning experience"...

Back at it. But easy going as it's just do a coat and go away till it dries. 1st round is the longest. Mask off the finished side

Then flip the 125lb door over (oof) and sand down the grain filler.

Get it so for the most part there's little on the surface of the wood and the filler is mainly in the grain. I took 97% of it off with the RO Sander and the rest I did with sandpaper on a block.

Mix up the primer and spray on a heavy coat. Now we wait.... Set an alarm for 45 minutes but I don't have to jump when the alarm goes off. The next round will be a scuff and another coat of primer, then a 45 minute wait and this time I want to be quick so I can just spray the clear on without the need to scuff it.

Went to the party and didn't have time beforehand to deal with the door. After the party I figured what the heck there's still daylight. Scuffed the door, wasn't that impressed with the fill of the grain until I sanded one area a bit more than usual. It went almost dead flat, no grain showing. So I did the rest of the door like that and was almost able to get rid of all the grain. I'm going with an extra coat of primer with some heavy scuffing to get rid of all the grain. So maybe I'll try to pull it off tonight. Or not.

By the quantity I'd imagine that is for a veneer and not chairs for concrete?

I have only done brick twice on a house, Houston it seems to be the thing but there it's more expensive than most local limestone or sandstone, I assume that's why it isn't prevalent here

All of the weekenders from Houston and Dallas comment on lack of brick houses it seems when they start coming down.

What hardware did you use for PTO drawers? Blum with the tipons or Grass or something else?

Was just wondering about the Grass. With the adjustable tension it really sounded like they had it all figured out. Blum you are choosing one of 3 spring packs to determine the tensions.
