I've done a couple decks out of tumbled travertine but never shellstone. What I know some stones and some sealers don't play nice together (I found out with limestone the hard way :censored:)

This deck was going to be all ipe with sleepers and drainage cut in all over the place with deco vents over the existing concrete but then after cost his wife complained that I could do what SHE wanted (stone) instead and now he gets his ipe siding and wrapped columns. I don't do a lot of stone anymore (last was in 2011) so any insight is welcomed as to products.

I think its going to be coquina shellstone.

I like 511 Porous Plus, and have used it on shellstone. I like it as a sealant because after it dries it minimally changes the color if at all, so when it weathers and wears you don't have obvious wet-look v. dry areas. It's a penetrating sealant, and doesn't leave a surface film. It's fairly expensive compared to many other sealants.
