I bought an older (`30's) small home. It has a slight slant to it. In the basement there is a t-shaped bar that is supporting a beam. There is a slight slant to the beam. I think I should get another t-shaped bar and support another section of ther beam. What do you experts think? Is this wise to do? I did have an inspector in when I bought it and he said that over the years, part of the house has actually sunk into the ground and this accounts for the slant. It seems to be quite stable and no longer is sinking. (At least I hope not.)
