I have a patio roof to build. I'm having a tough time figuring out how to get a good transition at the eaves.
It's 40' wide, the distance between the two gables, and extends 14' off the house.
I drew up a quick sketchup of it. My initial thought is shed roof style is the way to go on this one and I want the tie in point as high as possible to maximize slope. Is there another roof style that might work better here? I want the ceiling joists and soffit on the new roof to match elevation of the existing eaves. The rafters will tie in at the peak of the gables(the green line on the horizontal transition photo).
