I just had a room plastered. We used blue board with a thin layer of plaster. What would be the best way to prepare the walls for the finish paint? It has been drying for 2 weeks.
I would use an oil based masonry primer and two coats of an oil based topcoat. Laytex would work just as well I guess, but make sure it is specifically desinged for masonry.
I would use an acrylic primer, so it would be allowed to breath some more after its primed, to ensure it is fully dried. I've seen oil primer fail if the plaster wasn't fully dry.
