Not just primed, but finished, one coat prime/finish in one, sprayed. Glossy White. Custom Doors, 5" Casing, 8" Base, Crown. 5 BRs, 3 Baths, Kitchen, approximately 2500 Sq Ft addition.

(JSYK, not my idea)

Got Thought?

We did the prime, one coat, install, finish coat for awhile. A few years back we switched to installing primered trim and jambs with door slabs prefinished. Two finish coats of trim paint get applied after caulking and nails are filled. Doors are removed and stacked out of harms way until after carpet.

We also started getting our doors shipped without stop molding attached. We use screws under the stop line instead of nails to secure the jambs. That saves a little bit of nail holes on the jamb. This works especially well for pre-finished stained trim and doors.
Great idea with stained jambs to have them shipped without stops! Bet it makes for a perfect install since your setting the stop to the door and not the door to the stop.
